Frequency and Distribution of Risk Factors For Coronary Heart Disease in the Adult Population of Rural District of Elazığ, Turkey

Methods: From a population of 905 individuals aged 35 years and over, 388 were randomly selected. Selection of subjects was done with official records of the Baskil Health Care Center. Although repeated invitations were made, 32 individuals (29 men and 3 women) did not participate. Thus, 356 subjects were enrolled. Blood cholesterol and blood pressure levels, body height and weight were measured in all study subjects. In addition, a questionnaire was applied.
